Homes That Feel Good

I love the details, the little things that are pleasing to the eye. I love a well laid out floor plan with good flow that allows the person to easily move through the home. I love functionality above aesthetics, it has to work well first and look terrific too. Colors, textures, and shapes can all be used to create wonderful spaces and make a house into an unforgettable and inviting home.

I am semi-retired and am fortunate enough that I don’t have to work full time to pay the bills. I design because I truly love it. I only take on two or three projects a year. I try to choose projects where fresh ideas and bold looks are what the clients want. The details are what sets a home apart from the ordinary and makes it a place where you want to stay.

The Client’s lifestyle and use for the home help the home take shape. The lay of the land, the views, and natural surroundings mold it into its shape. The client’s taste in color and texture complete the design.

Most designs take three revisions before construction starts. I will be there every step of the way. Please take a moment to look at some of my photos and contact me if you like what you see.

favorites

Logs through the roof: we loved the idea of a continuous cedar log continuing straight up through the roof and ten feet into the air. Originally we were going to have tiki style torch flames on the top but ended up installing vintage lantern style street lamps to light the yard and driveway.

Outdoor living space: The living area extends through a 28 ft Nana wall onto the patio. The patio is complete with ceiling fans and furniture truly bringing the living space out into the fresh and airy outside.

Hammock hooks: Simple but fun and useful, these hammock hooks are built into the wall and provide a second bed for when the kid’s friends stay over.

Rock and block wall: Why just have a block wall when for just a little more effort you can create an extraordinary wall of beauty

Whimsical outhouse: This fully plumbed and functional outhouse was designed with “out of the ordinary” in mind. It make the farm a fun and interesting place to work and play.

Radius Porch: This country farm house badly needed a remodel. The clients wanted a wrap around porch but the driveway access made it too tight. We designed a beautiful radius porch that fit nicely and became the focal point of the porch.
